 PT-17 N450SH Stearman

January 9, 2012

I have patterned my PT-17 Stearman after John Hodgson's Stearman N450SH "0l' Harry" which was restored by Vintage Wings & Wheels & has won many National Awards. John’s aircraft was originally an N2S-3 Navy trainer. You can visit the Vintage Wings & Wheels website at:

       http://www.vintagewingsandwheels.com/

My PT-17 87" top wing was designed by Nick Ziroli, Smithtown, NY. I purchased prints from Nick Ziroli Plans on July 30, 2009. I modified the plans adding a turtle deck to the fuselage, ailerons to the top as well as the bottom wing, a 11.5 inch cowl & wheel pants. I also changed from a Zenoah G-62 which has 4.5 hp to a Desert Aircraft DA-85 engine which has 8.5 hp.
